ATHLETIC SCULPTING
Advanced body sculpting for an athletic look. We don't just remove fat — we etch around the muscle groups to reveal underlying definition, tightening the skin for a toned, gym-fit result.
THE PROMISE
High-definition liposuction is an advanced form of body sculpting that goes beyond simply removing fat. Using ultrasound-assisted (VASER) technology, fat is selectively removed in both the deep and superficial layers — etching around the natural muscle groups to reveal the definition underneath, such as the lines of a flat, athletic abdomen.
This is advanced sculpting for those who want an athletic look. We don't just remove fat; we etch around the muscle groups to reveal underlying definition (like a six-pack), creating a toned, gym-fit appearance. Skin tightening is combined where needed so the skin retracts smoothly over the new, sharper contour.

Before and after
Yesterday's case, today's update
Before and after — 8 months after High-Definition Lipo
VASER ultrasound energy first gently emulsifies the fat, which is then removed through fine cannulas. Working in layers, definition is sculpted around the borders of the muscles — the midline and edges of the abdomen, the chest, the arms or the back — to reveal a natural, athletic shape rather than simply a flatter one. Where the skin needs to retract, a skin-tightening step is added.
The areas treated, whether skin tightening is combined, and the type of anaesthesia are planned with Dr. Karatzias at your consultation.

ANAESTHESIA
Sedation or general anaesthesia
DISCOMFORT
Mild post-operative discomfort
RECOVERY TIME

FINAL RESULT

HOW LONG IT LASTS
Permanent (with appropriate weight maintenance)
A compression garment is worn for several weeks to support healing and help the skin retract over the new contour. Most patients return to office work within about a week, with strenuous activity and exercise resumed gradually over four to six weeks. Swelling settles over the following weeks, and the sculpted definition becomes increasingly clear over the following months.
Good candidates are people already close to their goal weight, with reasonable skin tone, who want the muscle definition that diet and exercise alone have not revealed. It refines and sculpts — it is not a weight-loss procedure — and works best on those who are fit and committed to maintaining their result. Your suitability and a realistic plan are determined at your consultation.

BEFORE & AFTER CASES
Results vary from person to person.
Will the result look natural, or obviously "done"?
The aim is a natural, athletic look. The sculpting follows your own underlying muscle borders rather than imposing a generic shape, so the definition reads as a fitter version of you. Overdone, artificial-looking results come from over-aggressive etching, which is why a conservative, individualised plan matters.
Where are the scars, and will they be visible?
The fat is removed through a few very small incisions for the cannulas, usually placed discreetly within natural creases or low-visibility spots. These marks are tiny and typically fade over time, though the exact placement depends on the areas being treated and is discussed at your consultation.
Does it hurt, and what are the bruising and swelling like?
Most people describe soreness and tightness rather than sharp pain in the first days, eased with simple pain relief. Bruising and swelling are normal early on and are part of why a compression garment is worn; they settle over the following weeks as the contour emerges.
How much time off work will I need?
Most patients return to office-type work within about a week. Strenuous activity and exercise are resumed gradually over roughly four to six weeks, and the compression garment is worn for several weeks to support healing and help the skin retract.
How long do the results last?
The fat cells removed do not return, so the sculpted contour is lasting — but it is not weight-proof. Significant weight gain can blunt the definition, so the result is best maintained with a stable weight and an active lifestyle.
What anaesthesia is used, and can it be combined with other procedures?
High-definition liposuction is typically performed under general anaesthesia, though the exact plan is confirmed at your consultation. It can often be combined with a skin-tightening step or other body-contouring work in the same session where appropriate — something Dr. Karatzias will assess for your case.
