A LIFTED, ALMOND EYE
A lifted, almond-shaped eye with a subtle upward tilt at the outer corner. Foxy eyes is a surgical procedure that alters the shape of the eye to lift and define your gaze — a natural, balanced result tailored to your anatomy at your consultation.
THE PROMISE
The foxy-eyes look, sometimes called the fox-eye or cat-eye lift, is a surgical procedure that lifts and reshapes the eye for a more almond-shaped, subtly tilted outer corner and a more open, lifted gaze. By surgically altering the shape and position of the structures around the eye — typically lifting the outer brow and the tail of the eyebrow and, where appropriate, the outer corner of the eye — Dr. Karatzias creates a gentle, lasting lift. The aim is always a natural, balanced result that suits your face, never an overdone or pulled appearance.
Foxy eyes is a surgical procedure that alters the shape of the eye to achieve the lifted, almond-eyed look. It is performed under local anaesthesia with sedation and usually takes around two hours. The technique focuses on the outer brow and the area around the tail of the eyebrow to create a gentle, lasting lift, and it is frequently combined with upper or lower blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) and with fat transfer to refine and balance the result. Dr. Karatzias explains the exact technique and what to expect in detail before you decide.
Recovery after foxy-eyes surgery generally takes around ten days. You can expect some swelling and possibly mild bruising around the eyes and temples in the first days, which settles gradually. As with any procedure around the eyes, we recommend limiting strenuous activity and direct sun exposure in the early period and using a sun block with both UVA and UVB protection. To protect your result, we recommend refraining from smoking before and throughout your recovery.
Foxy eyes can suit people who would like to enhance and lift the shape of their eyes for a more almond-shaped, awake-looking gaze, as well as those undergoing blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) who would like to improve and lift their gaze at the same time. During your consultation, Dr. Karatzias will assess your brow position, the structure of your eyelids and eye corners and the quality of your skin, discuss your goals honestly, and confirm whether the procedure is right for you.

BEFORE & AFTER CASES
Results vary from person to person.
Will my eyes still look natural — and still like me?
That is the aim. The lift is meant to be subtle — a gentle upward tilt at the outer corner that makes the eyes look more open and awake, not a different, overdone or pulled appearance. The result is tailored to your own anatomy so it reads as a refreshed version of your own face.
Will I have a visible scar?
Incisions are placed discreetly around the outer brow and the tail of the eyebrow, where they can be hidden or settle into the natural lines of the area. As with any surgery there is some scarring, but it is positioned to be inconspicuous and typically fades over time. Dr. Karatzias explains where your incisions will be at your consultation.
Does it hurt, and what are the bruising and swelling like?
The procedure itself is done under local anaesthesia with sedation, so you are comfortable throughout. Afterwards most people have tenderness rather than sharp pain, managed with simple pain relief. Some swelling and possibly mild bruising around the eyes and temples is normal in the first days and settles gradually.
How much time should I take off?
Recovery generally takes around ten days, so most people plan for roughly that before returning to their normal routine and any public-facing commitments. We recommend limiting strenuous activity and direct sun exposure in the early period, using a sun block with UVA and UVB protection, and not smoking before or during your recovery.
How long do the results last?
The lift created by surgery is lasting. Your eyes will continue to age naturally over the years as everyone’s do, but the surgical change to the shape and position of the structures around the eye is designed to be a long-term result rather than something that needs regular topping up.
Can foxy eyes be combined with another procedure?
Yes. It is frequently combined with upper or lower blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) and with fat transfer to refine and balance the result — and it suits patients already having eyelid surgery who would like to lift their gaze at the same time. Whether combining procedures makes sense for you is decided together at your consultation.
