INNER-THIGH CONTOUR
A smoother, firmer inner thigh. We remove the excess loose skin and fat from the upper inner thighs that can sag and rub after weight loss or with age — easing chafing and refining the line of the leg.
THE PROMISE
A medial thigh lift firms and reshapes the upper inner thigh by removing excess loose, sagging skin and, where present, stubborn fat. When the skin of the inner thigh loses its elasticity — typically after major weight loss or with age — it can hang and the thighs can rub together, causing friction and chafing that diet and exercise cannot resolve, because the underlying problem is excess skin rather than fat alone.
By removing excess skin and fat from the upper inner thighs, we reduce friction and chafing while creating a smoother, tighter leg silhouette. Where excess fat is also present, liposuction is frequently combined to refine the contour at the same time.

Body lift — marking for a medial thigh lift
The excess skin is removed through an incision usually hidden in the groin crease, where the thigh meets the body, so the scar sits in a natural fold. When the looseness extends further down the leg, the incision may continue along the inner thigh toward the knee to remove skin along its length. Liposuction is often used first to remove excess fat, then the loose skin is trimmed and the remaining skin is lifted and secured so the inner thigh sits firmer and smoother. A scar is the trade-off for the tighter contour; it is placed as discreetly as possible and fades over time.
Whether a groin-crease or a longer inner-thigh incision suits you, whether liposuction is combined, and the type of anaesthesia are all planned with Dr. Karatzias at your consultation.

HOW LONG IT LASTS
Permanent
A compression garment is worn for several weeks to control swelling and support the new contour, and walking is kept gentle in the early days while the inner-thigh incisions settle. Most patients return to desk work within one to two weeks, while wide leg movements, sport and strenuous activity are resumed gradually over four to six weeks. Swelling settles over the following weeks, and the scar continues to soften and fade over the following months.
Good candidates are people bothered by loose, sagging inner-thigh skin and chafing — most often after major weight loss or with age — who are at a stable weight and accept a scar in exchange for a firmer, smoother contour. If the inner thigh is heavy with fat but the skin tone is still good, liposuction alone may be enough; if the main problem is loose skin, a thigh lift is what tightens it. A stable weight and not smoking help healing and the quality of the scar.

BEFORE & AFTER CASES
Results vary from person to person.
Where will the scar be, and will it show?
The main incision is usually placed in the groin crease, where the thigh meets the body, so the scar sits hidden in a natural fold. If looser skin extends further down, the incision can continue along the inner thigh toward the knee, which is less concealed but kept on the inner side. The scar is permanent but placed as discreetly as possible and fades over the months that follow.
Does it hurt, and what are the bruising and swelling like?
Most people describe tightness and soreness around the inner thigh rather than sharp pain, eased with simple pain relief in the first days. Some bruising and swelling are normal and settle over the following weeks, helped by the compression garment that supports the new contour.
How much time off work will I need?
Most patients return to desk-based work within one to two weeks, keeping walking gentle early on while the incisions settle. Wide leg movements, sport and strenuous activity are resumed gradually over about four to six weeks, so a more active or physical job needs longer before a full return.
How long do the results last?
The skin that is removed does not come back, so the firmer, smoother contour is lasting. Keeping a stable weight is what protects the result over the years — significant weight gain or loss afterwards can stretch or loosen the skin again.
Could I need a second operation?
Most people need only one. Occasionally a minor revision is helpful — for example to refine a small area of looseness or improve a scar as it matures — which is a recognised possibility your surgeon will discuss honestly with you beforehand.
What anaesthetic is used, and can it be combined with other procedures?
A medial thigh lift is typically carried out under general anaesthesia. It is often combined with liposuction to refine the contour, and can sometimes be planned alongside other body-contouring surgery — what suits you is decided with Dr. Karatzias at your consultation.
