BALANCE & SYMMETRY

Breast Asymmetry Correction

Almost every woman's breasts differ a little — but a noticeable difference in size or shape can be balanced. We combine lift, reduction and augmentation techniques, tailored to you, to create natural, confident symmetry.

THE PROMISE

Balanced and even. Tailored to you. Confidence in anything you wear.

What is Breast Asymmetry Correction

It is completely normal for the two breasts to differ slightly — but for some women the difference in size, shape or position is noticeable enough to affect how clothes and swimwear fit, and how confident they feel. Breast asymmetry correction balances the two sides into a natural, even match.

It is common for breasts to develop differently. We use a tailored combination of lift, reduction or augmentation techniques — adjusting one or both sides — to balance size and shape, creating symmetry so you can feel confident in swimwear and clothing.

Before and after

The Procedure

Because no two cases are alike, the procedure is planned around your specific asymmetry. The smaller breast may be enlarged with an implant or fat transfer; the larger one may be reduced or lifted; sometimes both sides are adjusted to meet in the middle. The aim is balanced size, shape and nipple position — not an identical pair, which nature rarely makes.

The exact combination of techniques, and the type of anaesthesia, are planned with Dr. Karatzias at your consultation, after carefully assessing the difference between the two sides.

How the Patient Recovers

Recovery depends on the techniques used to balance the two sides. In general, a supportive surgical bra is worn for several weeks, most women return to office work within one to two weeks, and strenuous activity is resumed gradually over four to six weeks. Any scars are placed discreetly and fade over the following months as the final, balanced shape settles.

Are You the Right Candidate?

Good candidates are women bothered by a noticeable difference between their breasts — present since development, or arising after pregnancy, breastfeeding or surgery — who are at a stable weight and in good general health. While a perfectly identical pair is rarely achievable, a marked improvement in balance almost always is, and we set realistic expectations together.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will the breasts be made perfectly identical?

The aim is balanced, natural symmetry rather than two exact copies — nature rarely makes a perfectly identical pair, even without surgery. A marked improvement in balance is almost always achievable, and realistic expectations for your case are set together at your consultation.

Where will the scars be, and will they be visible?

Scar location depends on which techniques are used to balance the two sides — they are placed as discreetly as possible, typically around the areola or in the natural fold under the breast. Scars are usually most noticeable early on and then fade over the following months as healing completes.

How much time off will I need?

Most women return to office work within one to two weeks. A supportive surgical bra is worn for several weeks, and strenuous activity and exercise are resumed gradually over about four to six weeks.

Does it hurt, and what are the bruising and swelling like?

Most people describe tightness and soreness rather than sharp pain in the first days, managed with simple pain relief. Some swelling and bruising is normal early on and settles over the following weeks, with the final balanced shape emerging as the swelling resolves.

What anaesthesia is used, and can it be combined with another procedure?

Asymmetry correction is generally carried out under general anaesthesia. Because it already draws on lift, reduction and augmentation techniques, the plan is tailored to your case and any combination is discussed and agreed with Dr. Karatzias at your consultation.

Might I need a second operation later?

Most women need only the planned surgery. Occasionally a minor refinement is considered later — for example if healing settles slightly unevenly, or if implants are used and may need attention over the years — which your surgeon will discuss honestly with you beforehand.
